Police investigating shooting in NE Portland; one person in custody, shotgun seized

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police took one person into custody and seized a shotgun in connection with a shooting investigation in northeast Portland.

Officers responded to Adventist Medical Center in southeast Portland on reports of a man being treated for a gunshot wound at 1:52 p.m. Thursday.

The man was taken by private vehicle to that hospital, before being transferred by ambulance to a trauma hospital for further treatment.

Police said the man is expected to survive.

Investigators learned the shooting occurred near a home on the 11800 block of Northeast Holladay Street. Officers responded to that home and contacted multiple people.

Officers learned there had been a disturbance between several people at the time of the shooting.  

While officers were at the scene, they took one person into custody in connection with the shooting and seized a shotgun that was believed to be the weapon used in the shooting.

The suspect’s name was not immediately released.
