A first baseman who spent 2017 playing for the Hillsboro Hops is going viral for the Christmas gift he gave his parents.

Pavin Smith is warming hearts across the country.

The 21-year-old Florida native played for the Hillsboro Hops this past season and was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2017 MLB Draft as the No. 7 overall pick.

Smith received a $5 million signing bonus and with his new status as a major league rookie, he pulled off a major surprise for his parents Monday.

For Christmas, Smith paid off his parents’ mortgage.

A video of the gift reveal was tweeted by Smith and as of Thursday morning, the video had more than 1 million views.

In a note to his parents, Smith wrote “I want our family home to be yours.”

FOX 12’s Nick Krupke spoke with Smith over the summer about being drafted by the Diamondbacks. When asked what he planned to do with his MLB money, Smith replied he planned to buy a car.

While in Hillsboro, Smith also spent time as a "summer son" at the mayor's home
