MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (KPTV/AP) -

Authorities say a Woodland woman who drove off California cliff last month in an SUV carrying her wife and children was drunk.

California Patrol Capt. Bruce Carpenter said Friday that toxicology tests found Jennifer Hart had an alcohol level of .102.

California drivers are considered drunk with a level of .08 or higher.

Carpenter says toxicology tests also found that her wife Sarah Hart and two of their adopted children had "a significant amount" of an ingredient commonly found in the allergy drug Benadryl, which can make people sleepy.

Carpenter said none of the car's occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The Harts and three of their children were found dead after the car plunged into the Pacific Ocean on March 26

Three more are missing and another body was found in the area, but not yet identified.

As the investigation has unfolded, it has been learned a neighbor reported the Harts to Child Protective Services and a 911 call was made in November 2017 regarding possible abuse and neglect of the children.

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services opened a Child Protective Services investigation of the family on March 23.

A timeline released by investigators shows the Harts were believed to be in Newport, Oregon the morning of March 24. They then traveled south on Highway 1 to the Fort Bragg, California area, where they remained until around 9 p.m. March 25.

Jennifer Hart was caught on a surveillance camera at a Safeway store in Fort Bragg the morning of March 25.

The 100-foot drop killed the women, both 39, and their children Markis Hart, 19; Jeremiah Hart, 14; and Abigail Hart, 14. Hannah Hart, 16; Devonte Hart, 15; and Sierra Hart, 12, have not been found.
