EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -

The University of Oregon has announced a number of changes for the 2018 football season at Autzen Stadium.

The parking lots at Autzen Stadium will open two hours earlier on gamedays, meaning they will now open six hours before kickoff.

Beer and wine will now be sold in the general concession areas of the stadium. Previously, alcohol was only sold in the Moshofsky Center and The Club at Autzen.

Alcohol sales will not be extended to the student sections.

The number of alcohol monitors on the game-day staff will be “significantly increased to allow for increased vigilance regarding binge drinking, underage drinking and potential incidents,” according to a university release.

The extended parking lot hours and the expanded alcohol sales are both part of a one-year pilot program.

The university also announced that fans will no longer be allowed to re-enter the stadium after they’ve exited at any point during the game, including halftime.

Police said it creates a “safer football environment” and helps reduce binge-drinking and alcohol-related incidents.

A new clear bag policy will also be instituted for the upcoming season. Only one clear bag will be allowed per person. Backpacks, large purses, fanny packs, camera bags, diaper bags and binocular cases are among the bags that will not be permitted inside the stadium.

The university posted more details on the clear bag policy - including additional banned bags - and other game day changes online.
