VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Clark County health officials say swimmers are welcome again at Klineline Pond in Vancouver after a second round of test showed improved water quality.

The pond was closed to swimmers and waders Tuesday after routine testing revealed elevated levels of the bacteria.

Officials Thursday lifted the closure but left a warning in place for the swim beach while they awaited results from a second round of tests to confirm that water quality at the pond had improved.

The second of tests were returned Friday and confirmed that the water quality had improved. Park staff have removed warning signs from around the swim beach area.

Health officials say they will continue to monitor water quality at pond and at other nearby swim beaches, including Battle Ground Lake and Vancouver Lake.

Salmon Creek Regional Park and the splash pad, which uses municipal water, were not impacted by the closures.
