SILETZ, OR (KPTV) -

A K-9 found methamphetamine hidden under the hood of a car during a traffic stop in Siletz, according to deputies.

A joint operation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Newport Police Department in Siletz led to several traffic stops Wednesday.

Newport K-9 Nero alerted to the presence of drugs near the left headlight of one stopped car. Deputies said it led to the discovery of an ounce of meth hidden under the hood.

Phillip Mark Shoemaker, 43, of Newport, was arrested and booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of unlawful possession, manufacture and delivery within 1000 feet of a school of meth, along with possession of heroin and felon in possession of a weapon.
