Minivan, Dump Truck Collide In Sherwood

SHERWOOD, Ore. -- A minivan and dump truck collided Friday morning in the Tigard area, slowing traffic on Roy Rogers Road, sheriff's deputies said.Roy Rogers Road was shut down at Beef Bend Road as firefighters removed the driver from the van.Deputies said the minivan drifted into the path of the oncoming dump truck and the dump truck driver was unable to avoid the collision.The front end of the minivan was crushed, trapping the driver, rescue crews said. Crews had to cut off the roof, dashboard and doors of the minivan to get him out.A LifeFlight helicopter rushed the driver to a Portland hospital. There's no word on the severity of the minivan driver's injuries.The crash was first reported at 6:44 a.m. Sheriff's deputies said they were stopping drivers at Scholls Ferry Road to divert them around the wreck.The identities of the two drivers involved have not been released.The crash is being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.Photos: Minivan, Dump Truck Collide In Tigard Area
