A funnel cloud was spotted near Corvallis on Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Portland said people reported a funnel cloud near Tangent, about five miles east of Corvallis, at about 4:10 p.m.

There were no reports of damage or confirmed touchdown.

National Weather Service officials said recent weather patterns can produce a cold-air funnel cloud.

These funnels do not usually touch the ground but can be dangerous if they do. The weather cell could produce more funnels as it moves east into the foothills.
