Again? Coast In For Another Windy Evening

POSTED: 11:59 am PST November 18, 2009
UPDATED: 6:13 pm PST November 18, 2009

A high-wind warning has been issued for the Oregon Coast.

The warning from the National Weather Service is in effect until midnight Thursday.

Southerly winds will increase mid-day to 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph along the coastline, according to the NWS. The strongest winds -- with gusts up to 70 mph -- will begin early Wednesday evening and last through the night.

After the winds diminish overnight, a second frontal wave will bring in gusts to 60 mph mid-Thursday morning, the National Weather Service expects.

A high wind warning means there is the potential for property damage.

The winds will be tamer in the Portland area.

Earlier this week, a windstorm ripped the roof off Seaside's old City Hall building and caused temporary highway closures.
