NEWPORT, Ore. (KPTV) - While the traditional Newport Seafood & Wine Festival is canceled this year, you can still celebrate and taste delicious food and wine!

This year’s Newport Seafood & Wine Festival, which brings together great tastes from land and sea, will be a mainly virtual event.

Delicious sips and bites can be enjoyed with the festival’s to-go boxes. There are six different boxes to choose from that come with:

  • Local seafood and treats
  • Three bottles in each box
  • Additional boxes to enhance your experience
  • Meet the winemakers virtually

In addition to the to-go boxes, there will be a Seafood & Wine Festival Tasting Trail. People will get a passport to participating restaurants and retail shops that are offering discounts, shopping, and tasting experiences.

Tasting experience hours are:

  • Friday, Feb. 25 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 26 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also new this year, there will be an online seafood and wine pairing class with Chinook Winds Casino and Chateau Bianca Winery. People will be able to cook and taste alongside Chinook Winds Casino Resorts renowned Chef Michael Durham and Andre Wetzel, winemaker at Chateau Bianca Winery.
