Suspect arrested in deadly SE Portland hit-and-run

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A suspect has been arrested in connection to a deadly hit-and-run in southeast Portland on Friday evening, the Portland Police Bureau have confirmed.
The PPB said early Tuesday they had arrested Antonio Giuseppe Panciarelli, 47, and charged him with negligent homicide and failure to perform the duties of a driver-felony.
Panciarelli is suspected as the driver of the Nissan Maxima that hit and killed 41-year-old Cedar C. Markey-Towler, of Portland.
PPB said just before 7 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 11400 block of Southeast Foster Road. When they arrived, they found Markey-Towler injured after being hit by a car. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
Later Friday, police were told the Markey-Towler’s injuries were more serious than initially believed and he died at the hospital.
Panciarelli has been booked into the Multnomah County Detention Ceneter.
