Police identify 53-year-old man found dead after N. Portland shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - The Portland Police Bureau has identified a man who died in a shooting in north Portland earlier this month.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, just after 2 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of North Schmeer Road. Officers arrived to the scene and found a man dead. The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Otis Abner.

The medical examiner’s office determined Abner died from a gunshot wound and the manner of death to be homicide.

Police have not made any arrests or released a suspect description.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene. During the investigation, North Schmeer Road was closed between North Horseshoe Avenue and North Whitaker Road.
