PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - Portland’s new G-League team tips off the NBA schedule this Friday as the Rip City Remix head down to face the South Bay Lakers for the start of a three-game season opening road trip.

The Trail Blazers’ first G League affiliate is lead by head coach Jim Moran who spent six years on the coaching staff of Terry Stotts.

After working as the lead assistant the past two seasons for the Detroit Pistons, the 44-year-old is thrilled to be back in Rip City to lead the new venture of young talent to develop into potential future pieces of the Trail Blazers as well as the two-way players who could see time on both the Remix and the big team.

While the Remix begin its inaugural campaign as the 31st team in the G League this Friday on the road, Rip City’s home opening weekend will be next Friday and Saturday with 5 p.m. and 3 p.m. tip offs for the first of 24 home games at the Chiles Center on the campus of the University of Portland.
