Man in Wilsonville arrested as suspect in 70-year-old dad’s death

WILSONVILLE Ore. (KPTV) - A man in Wilsonville was arrested on Sunday morning in connection to the death of his 70-year-old father’s murder.

On Saturday morning, Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a house on South Ellis Road south of Molalla.

When deputies arrive they found Michael James McCann, from Molalla, dead with multiple gunshot wounds outside of the home.

McCann’s son, Michael Morris McCann, 34, was arrested on Sunday morning at 5:50 a.m. by a SWAT team at his apartment, Berkshire Apartments, in Wilsonville. He was booked into the county jail on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

“Around 5:50 AM I heard a pretty loud bang realized it was probably a flash bang so I looked out the window. Saw the whole lot completely full of Clackamas County sheriffs, and that’s and that’s when they start over the PA telling the guy to come out with his hands up,” said Gary Hoffman, Wilsonville neighbor.
