Joe Vithayathil (you can call him “Joe V”) is the feature reporter for Fox 12’s Emmy-Award winning Good Day Oregon.
Joe grew up in the Portland and Seattle metro areas and graduated from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. He joined Fox 12 in 2006 after stops in Yakima, Washington, and San Antonio, Texas.
In his daily “On the Go with Joe” segments, Joe is always trying new and exciting activities. Through the years Joe has flown with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, climbed to the top of Portland’s Fremont Bridge and even (briefly) rode a bull.
Outside of work, Joe is always up for adventure. He is an avid Crossfit athlete, who occasionally competes against other weekend warriors. When he’s not “on the go," Joe is a rabid consumer of movies, historical biographies and video games. And for decades he has been a fierce (and often frustrated) supporter of WSU and Seattle Seahawks football.
Joe’s #1 job is “Dad," and he and his wife Jenny are the proud parents of two daughters: Siena and Josie. The Vithayathils love to visit many of the Portland area’s favorite restaurants and enjoy taking road trips to see the incredible sights of the Pacific Northwest. They have also made occasional visits to Kerala, the state in South India that is Joe’s paternal homeland.
