March 22, 2019 – In celebration of 10 years as a composer-led organization that champions the creation and presentation of new work, Cascadia Composers is thrilled to honor its group of musical founders with Ten Years On: Cascadia Founders Speak. This concert reunion features the music of founders David Bernstein, Tomas Svoboda, Greg Steinke, Gary Noland, Jack Gabel, Dan Senn, Bonnie Miksch, and Jeff Winslow, performed, like the inaugural concert in 2009, by fearNoMusic!Old, Gabel’s Elegy, Senn’s Its Mirror, Steinke’s Expressions for string quartet, Svoboda’s Forest Rhythms, and Bernstein’s Whispers of the Lakota. The talented members of fearNoMusic who will be performing including Jeff Payne, piano; Sam Park, violin; Avery Waites, cello; Sarah Maines, voice; Monica Ohuchi, piano; Amelia Lukas, flute; Kenji Bunch, violin, Mai Nguyen, viola; and Kevin Schlossman, percussion.
