The Fred Astaire Dance Studios Portland will host the 2019 Northwest Dance Championships August 23rd - 24th at the Downtown Hilton in Portland. Whether you’re a fan of ballroom dancing, love to watch Dancing with the Stars, or dance in your living room, this is an event not to be missed.

Competitors will be working with Dancing with the Stars Tony Dovolani in various pre-competition clinics in preparation for the competitive dancing to follow, culminating in a Professional Dance Battle Royale held August 24th.

There are also plenty of opportunities for event attendees to meet Tony with a cocktail hour before the dance battle from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. immediately followed by the charity banquet dinner and auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit Tony’s Foundation for Special Needs Children.

Attendees should wear their comfortable dancing shoes as there will be an opportunity to dance the night away after a dazzling showcase of various dance performances, including a performance by Tony. The Professional Dance Battle Royale Champion will be determined by audience vote exclusively!

As part of the conclusion for the weekend’s dance festivities, a golf tournament will be held August 25th at Oregon Golf Club hosted by Tony to also raise funds for his organization. A spot-on Tony’s team will be part of the auction prizes. (Tony is a member of the PGA Player Development Committee, applying his experience in body mechanics and awareness as a dancer to the sport of golf.
