(KPIX/Meredith) -- San Francisco officials approve the CAREN Act that would ban racially-biased calls to 911.

We have all heard of the so-called “Karen”.

It started as a caricature of people who called 911 on minorities with no cause. 

In one California city, it is now the name of legislation that could lead to fines for the callers.
