(Meredith) - If you've purchased Infants' Tylenol over the past five years, you may be eligible to claim part of a proposed $6.3 million class action lawsuit settlement.
The lawsuit claims the Infants' Tylenol packaging deceived customers into believing that it was specially formulated for babies when the bottles contain the same concentration of liquid acetaminophen as Children's Tylenol.
Tylenol's parent company Johnson & Johnson has denied the deception claims, saying the smaller syringe in the Infant's version makes the products different. However, the settlement is still moving forward, according to a press release.
You may be able to file a claim if you are in the United States and purchased Infants’ Tylenol for personal or household use at any time from October 3, 2014, to January 6, 2020.
Each eligible member of the lawsuit can claim $2.15 for every 1 and 2 fl. oz. bottle of Infants’ Tylenol purchased. A maximum of 7 bottles or $15.05 may be claimed without proof of purchase.
Those with proof of purchase may claim an unlimited number of bottles.
A final hearing on the settlement is schedule for May 11.
