Public Information Officer Bryan Dalton said it happened around 7 p.m. Saturday near SW Jenkins and Baseline. Dalton said a woman in her 40's was hit by a car and died at the scene. The driver of a white Mustang cooperated with police.

The woman’s family has been notified and Dalton said there’s a chaplain on the scene for her family as well as the driver and passengers of the Mustang.

There is a lighted crosswalk near the crash site, but police said the woman did not seem to use it.

People who live in the area said Baseline is a well traveled road and see cars speed often. Beaverton PD said the road will be closed for an additional hour.
