A driver of a car said a patch of ice caused him to lose control and crash into a building in Southeast Portland early Wednesday morning.
Police responded to the scene at Southeast 76th Avenue and Foster Road around 5:30 a.m.
The car left a large hole in the side of Regina Pain Care Clinic and Aculinks Acupuncture.
Lin Kong, the owner of Aculinks Acupuncture said he received a call from police telling him a car had crashed into his business.
“The driver said he hit a block of ice and had to cut across and swerve across four lanes of traffic and hit my building,” said Kong.
Kong said the driver remained at the scene and is only suffering mild shoulder pain.
The cause of the crash has not been confirmed by police.
Sub-freezing conditions are expected during the morning commutes Thursday and Friday. Traffic experts would like to remind drivers to slow down and to give cars extra stopping distance.
