A second person has been arrested in connection to sexual abuse crimes against a minor, according to Oregon State Police.

Michael Goff, a parking enforcement contractor for the City of Newport, was taken into custody Friday at approximately 11 a.m. and lodged into the Lincoln County Jail.

Goff’s arrest comes a day after a former Newport police sergeant was arrested on sex abuse charges.

Brad Purdon was taken into custody at approximately 11 a.m. Thursday and booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

Purdon was indicted on three felony counts of sexual abuse-second degree, OSP said.

Goff was indicted by a Lincoln County Grand Jury on one felony count of sexual abuse-second degree and one misdemeanor count of sexual abuse-third degree.

OSP said Goff and Purdon were involved in separate incidents involving the same victim.
