The Coast Guard assisted three people on a sailing vessel on Saturday, after it started taking on water 10 miles west of Gold Beach.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector North Bend said they received a mayday call from the ship at 5:39 p.m. The boat crew was launched to assist and arrived at the scene at 6:22 p.m.

The boat crew said they used a dewatering pump to control the water flooding in the ship. The water was reportedly coming from the area around a broken propulsion shaft.

No injuries were reported.
