Portland Fire & Rescue responded to a brush fire just off I-205 at Northeast 92nd and Schuyler Tuesday night.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found grass, shrubs and trees on fire.

A total of five fire engines responded to the scene, and crews brought the fire under control within 40 minutes.

One firefighter suffered a medical issue, likely related to dehydration and high temperatures.

Portland Police Bureau Sergeant Christopher Burley says preliminary information suggests someone tried to light a cigarette in the area and a match was dropped and started the fire.

That person has been contacted by an investigator but will not be charged, according to Sgt. Burley.
