As crews from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue were arriving, they heard that the family had gone back inside the home to find their dog. TVF&R would like to remind you that it is never a good idea to go back into a structure to retrieve pets or personal belongings.

Everyone made it out safely.

The residents of the home are being assisted by the American Red Cross for temporary housing needs.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
