A 64-year-old man convicted of rape, sodomy and other charges was sentenced to 33 years in prison Tuesday, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.

Curtis Clint Williams was convicted June 26 in connection to a 2011 rape involving a teen girl in downtown Portland.

The victim, then 19, told law enforcement she had been raped and sexually abused inside the Alder Hotel Apartments on Sept. 30 that year, according to court documents.

The woman said she did not previously know her attacker and reported the assault immediately after leaving the apartment.

A newly tested rape kit led to Williams’ arrest in June last year.

Detectives say the 2017 arrest was made after the sexual assault forensic evidence kit connected to the case was submitted for testing.

According to the attorney’s office, Williams was convicted of one count of rape in the first degree, two counts of sodomy in the first degree, one count of unlawful sexual penetration and three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree.
