Washington County Sheriff's Office were surprised by what was on a welcome mat while serving a warrant at a home in Gales Creek.

Deputies said they responded to a dispute between some loggers and their neighbors in Gales Creek on Monday night. The altercation escalated into a physical assault where a tree limb was used as a weapon.

Deputies said gunshots were fired but no one was hit by gunfire. One man was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit worked with deputies on a search warrant to recover the handgun used.

When deputies arrived at the home to serve the search warrant, they found a welcome mat that said: Come back with a warrant.

Our deputies saw this recently at a house where...you guessed it...they were serving a search warrant. RR pic.twitter.com/AEL2gYSrco— WC Sheriff's Office (@WCSheriff) September 6, 2016
