Evergreen school bus involved in multi-car crash on I-205 in Vancouver

A multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus has shut down two southbound lanes of traffic on Interstate 205 in Vancouver.

According to Trooper Will Finn of the Washington State Police, there were children on the bus when it crashed into two cars.

Staff with the Evergreen School District confirmed the bus was from their district and that the students were from Covington Middle School and 25 students were on board.

Trooper Finn said the children are primarily Spanish speaking and that an interpreter was being brought it to assist with the situation. He also noted that the kids appeared to be mobile and talking.

One driver from one of the other vehicles had to be extricated prior to being taken by ambulance to the hospital. The driver had lost consciousness but woke up at the scene.

The condition of the third driver involved in the crash was not currently known.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time but investigators are on the scene.
