A man who was working security Sunday night was shot dead in Northeast Portland, and his family said he didn't deserve to die.
According to police, they found 28-year-old Luccas McNeill lying in the street.
While police have been tight-lipped with the investigation, his family, friends and co-workers wanted to shed light on the type of person he was.
"We called him Batman because he saved everyone he touched," his girlfriend said.
"I don't think whoever did this could ever imagine how many people they destroyed," one friend said. "I haven't really cried since it happened until today because I don't want to believe that he's gone."
According to McNeill's family, he was the sole provider for his sister and mother. His girlfriend said he was adopted at 15 months old and tried his best to be the man of the house.
"He worked so many jobs to provide for them and give them a happy and quality life to live as a family," said McNeill's girlfriend.
His girlfriend said if they can ask for one thing, it would be to bring some solace to the family.
"We want justice to come as thoroughly as possible because he deserves that," McNeill's girlfriend said.
