A former bookkeeper at a Linn County business is accused of stealing more than $100,000 from her employer.

Petreena Marie Clow, 58, of Crawfordsville, was arrested Wednesday on charges including racketeering, theft, aggravated theft, forgery, identity theft and aggravated identity theft.

The investigation began on Feb. 9. A business owner in the Crawfordsville area reported that Clow had been the bookkeeper for around four years, but had recently been fired due to the business falling into financial trouble.

A new bookkeeper discovered Clow had been writing numerous unauthorized checks on the business account to herself and another company she managed, according to investigators.

Detectives said she fraudulently wrote 51 unauthorized checks over a three-year period totaling $107,325.

Clow was booked into the Linn County Jail.
