Portland’s heat wave couldn’t stop one couple from tying the knot.

Even though their wedding was outside.

And temperatures hit 105 degrees in Portland.

Meghan Borato and Scott Richardson got married at Cathedral Park under the St. Johns Bridge and under the sizzling sun Thursday.

It was the hottest day in eight years in Portland.

The couple thought August in Portland would be the perfect time for an outdoor wedding, but as the date grew near, news of a pending heat wave gave them cause for concern.

They had already paid for the picturesque venue and done all the planning, so moving the date wasn’t a realistic option.

Instead, they made sure to stock up on plenty of ice water and hoped their guests would still come to share their special day.

“We wouldn’t miss it for the world, but some of them have switched their wardrobes to wear shorts and more casual attire, just to adjust to the weather, but we’re really excited to be here,” said Erin Boyle, a cousin of the bride.

As for the bride herself, Borato said she stayed in a car with the air conditioner set to high before she took the very warm walk down the aisle to say “I do”
