Police are investigating a suspicious death in north portland.
Just after one o'clock this morning, portland fire and rescue responded to a report of a car fire on marine drive not far from leadbetter road.
After putting out the fire, crews found a person dead inside the car.
Police responded and say the person's death is suspicious.
There's no word yet who that person is.
After days of teacher strikes, students in the vancouver school district will finally have their first day of school today.
More than 15-hundred teachers met at skyview high school yesterday to overwhelmingly approve a new, three-year contract, giving them a roughly 13-percent raise.
As part of the deal, students will be released 40 minutes early every monday to give teachers more time for collaboration and professional development.

The suspect has been identified as christopher rollins.
Clark county deputies say it all started monday night when rollins crashed into a car and took off.
A deputy spotted him, chased him, and at some point fired his weapon.
Deputies say rollins was not shot but was bit by a k-9 officer.
He was taken to the hospital and later released and booked into jail.
The deputy who fired his gun was also taken to the hospital for an unknown injury.
He's also been released.
The deputy has been placed on critical incident leave which is standard protocol.
