Deputies arrested five people this week they say tried to commit sexual acts with kids.
The men and teen range in age from 16 to 44, the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office says.
They were arrested during a joint operation between the sheriff’s office and the Portland FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force and lodged at the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility.
44-year-old Brandon David Backman, of Hood River, and 27-year-old Francisco Ramirez Rendon, of The Dalles, each face a charge of online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree, the sheriff’s office says.
30-year-old John Grover Morgan III, of Rhododendron, and 23-year-old Daniel Garcia, of The Dalles, also face a charge of online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree, as well as a charge of luring of a minor.
The teen, from White Salmon, Washington, faces a charge of attempted sodomy in the first degree, according to the sheriff’s office.
