A jury has convicted a former Vancouver teacher on charges of voyeurism and attempted voyeurism.

Matthew Morasch was found guilty in court Wednesday. He was arrested in June 2015.

Morasch, then 40 years old, was a teacher at Evergreen High School at the time of his arrest.

He was placed on leave after allegations were made that he captured inappropriate images of a student with his phone.

A photo provided to FOX 12 showed Morasch holding his phone below a table in the classroom.

A girl told FOX 12 at the time of his arrest that she believed Morasch was recording video up her dress while talking to her about a class assignment.

A search warrant was obtained for his phone, but court documents stated that video was deleted before Morasch gave his phone to police.

Detectives said Morasch was arrested on voyeurism charges in connection with an image from the classroom on his phone, as well as images from a Goodwill store in Battle Ground.

Morasch is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 29.

Morasch resigned from his job at Evergreen High School last year and did not teach during the 2016-2017 school year, according to a district spokeswoman.
