A pedestrian who was hit by an SUV after a crash on Highway 99W near Tigard died the following day at the hospital.
Emergency crews responded to the highway near Southwest Fischer Road at 6:33 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators said a 58-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Cruze was heading south on Highway 99W when she turned east to cross the northbound lanes and enter the parking lot for the Avalon Park Apartments.
Her car was hit by a 2011 Chevy Suburban driven by a 71-year-old man. Deputies said the Suburban driver was traveling north and had the right of way.
The impact sent the SUV onto the sidewalk where it hit 36-year-old Nathaniel Franciosi of Tualatin. Franciosi was taken to Oregon Health & Science University with critical injuries. Deputies said he died Monday at the hospital.
Investigators believe the woman driving the Chevrolet Cruze had been drinking alcohol prior to the crash, but the case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.
