Deputies have arrested a manslaughter suspect accused of hitting a couple on an ATV and leaving the scene in Winchester Bay.

Benjamin Wohl, 27, of Poulsbo, Washington was killed in the collision and Breauna Ellison, 30, of Clackamas was seriously injured.

Investigators said the couple was on a Honda ATV in the dunes north of Banshee Hill at 11 p.m. Friday when they were struck by a Polaris side-by-side ATV.

Deputies said the people on the Polaris stopped briefly, but then left the scene, abandoned the ATV and ran into the woods.

Deputies said they arrested Walker Thomas Kellog, 25, of Winchester Bay, at the Shilo Inn in Newport at 9:10 p.m. Monday.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said he was caught with the assistance of the Newport Police Department.

Kellogg was booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault and felony hit and run.

Danielle Elizabeth Gockel-Figge, 24, was also in the hotel room with Kellog and was cited for hindering prosecution. Deputies said she was a passenger on the Polaris at the time of the deadly crash.

The case remains under investigation, according to deputies.
