A deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and his K-9 partner helped find a missing boy near Mt. Angel Sunday.
At about 2 p.m., deputies were called after the parents of 14-year-old Austin Davis reported him missing. They told deputies that Austin went hunting for bugs at about 1 p.m. and had not returned.
After searching for him, they found his clothing near the Pudding River and called the sheriff's office.
Deputy Jason Bernards and his K-9 partner Rolo as well as water rescue teams from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Salem Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
At about 3 p.m., Bernards and Rolo found Austin alive and well on opposite side of the Pudding River.
Austin swam back across the river to Bernards and was returned to his parents, according to the sheriff's office.
