A murder suspect has been arrested in connection to the death of a 33-year-old man in north Portland in October.

Gerardo Granados-Marin was found bleeding outside a building on the 5500 block of North Columbia Court the evening of Oct. 5.

Officers said his injuries were traumatic and medical crews were unable to save him. Granados-Marin was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner determined that he had suffered multiple sharp force injuries and ruled his death a homicide.

Detectives said they developed leads in the case that ultimately led to the indictment of 41-year-old Leo Lee Burns. He was indicted by a grand jury Monday on the charge of murder, booked in the Multnomah County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Police did not release any other details about the investigation.

In September 2016, prosecutors filed a motion to dismiss the case, which was granted by a judge. No details were released about the reason for the dismissal request, but prosecutors said the investigation remains open and new charges can be filed at a later date.
