A 33-year-old Newport man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning.

Oregon State Police said around 8 a.m. troopers, along with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, responded to the report of a crash on Highway 20 near milepost 10, just east of Newport.

According to OSP, preliminary investigation revealed a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup was traveling westbound on Highway 20 when the vehicle drove off the road and struck a guard rail. The vehicle went airborne and hit a tree, causing the driver to be ejected.

The driver, Andrew Beauchamp, of Newport, was pronounced dead at the scene.

OSP said that speed is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash. They also believe Beauchamp was not wearing a seat belt.
