One man was taken into custody Sunday night after police received a call about an armed robbery at a convenience store in Southeast Portland.

Officers responded to the Plaid Pantry store at 5414 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard around 11:09 p.m.

Witnesses told police a man with a chainsaw and a knife was robbing the store.

Portland police said they arrived to find the suspect, 34-year-old Jonathon Lee Lathrop, outside the store, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Police said they found a car on fire next to the store, but officers are unsure if the fire was related to the robbery or Lathrop.

No injuries were reported.
