Gresham police are searching for a man they believe stole diamond jewelry worth around $9,000 from a pawn shop just over a month ago.

Detectives say that on October 29, a man walked into Silver Lining Jewelry & Loan at 300 S.E. 181st Avenue and asked a store employee to see two diamond rings from a display.

After the employee gave the man the rings, he turned and ran out of the store, getting into a small gray passenger car waiting nearby.

The entire incident was recorded on surveillance video, giving investigators a better look at the suspect.

He is described as a white man, 30 to 45 years old, with brown hair, a short brown beard and a tattoo of a cross on his hand. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket, blue jeans and a baseball cap with a Fox Racing logo on it.

Investigators ask that anyone with information regarding this theft please call the Gresham Police tip line at 503-618-2719.
