Two men were arrested in Southeast Portland early Sunday morning, and one of them faces gun and drug related charges, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

East Precinct officers responded just after 2 a.m. to the area of Southeast 124th Avenue and Powell Boulevard on the report of a man sitting in a parked car drinking and asking people for money.

Police said they received additional information that the person in the car may have pulled a gun on someone a week earlier.

When officers arrived, the vehicle had left the area and was driving eastbound on Powell Boulevard.

The vehicle was later found parked in the Kings Wild parking lot at Southeast 136th Avenue and Powell, according to police.

Police said officers tried to talk to the two men inside the car as they were exiting the vehicle, but one of them took off running across Powell.

While he was running, he dropped several bindles of crack cocaine, according to police.

He continued to run from officers, but was taken into custody after trying to scale a fence.

The suspect who ran, Damion Holcomb, 37, was booked into Multnomah County Jail on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine, and interfering with a peace officer.

The other person in the car, Marcel McDonald, 28, is lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on a parole violation detainer.
