Portland man suspected of sex trafficking arrested in Clark County

A 30-year-old Portland man has been arrested on multiple charges including compelling and promoting prostitution.

Marvin Glenn Mitchell Jr., 30, was arrested following a human sex trafficking investigation by the Portland Police Bureau's Sex Trafficking Unit.

The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office said the allegations against Mitchell span between 2006 and 2017. The district attorney's office also said two victims, one of which was a minor at the time of the alleged offenses, have come forward.

Mitchell was arrested in Clark County, and later transferred to Multnomah County on July 24.

According to court documents, Mitchell is facing charges of rape in the second degree, three counts of compelling prostitution, seven counts of promoting prostitution, two counts of assault in the fourth degree, and strangulation.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday morning.
