Questions linger for shooting victim’s family amid investigation

Police are still looking for whoever shot and killed a man at a boat ramp off Marine Drive Monday night.

That shooting happened in the eastern parking lot of M. James Gleason Memorial Boat ramp.

47-year-old Andre Pennington was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died Tuesday.

A witness said she was in the bathroom during the shooting and said she peeked through the door to look outside and saw a man holding a gun shooting another man before he fled the scene.

On Saturday it would’ve been Pennington’s 48th birthday.

That’s why his sister-in-law Iesha Young told FOX 12 his family gathered Saturday where he was shot to honor him.

Young said Pennington was funny and always asked a thousand questions.

She has no idea what happened Monday night.

“It's shocking to everybody. It's like he don't bother nobody, he ain’t a gang member he's none of that. We just want to know why,” she said. “I love you bro and I'll truly miss you.”

Investigators believe there were multiple people at the boat ramp Monday night.

They’re asking anyone who might have witnessed the shooting or has additional information about the shooting to contact Portland Police.
