RV fire spreads to brush along I-84; traffic affected in Gorge

 

Interstate 84 was closed briefly in both directions Thursday afternoon after an RV sparked a brush fire.

Oregon State Police posted on Twitter that the fire was burning near milepost 123, between Biggs Junction and Arlington.

According to Gilliam County dispatchers, the RV fire spread to brush on both side of the highway.

Flames could be seen burning close to the roadway and traffic was stopped in both directions at one point. As of 2 p.m. one lane was open in each direction.

There were no reports of injuries associated with the fire and flames were not threatening any structures.
