Suspect wanted after bank robbery in Newport

NEWPORT, Ore. (KPTV) - The Newport Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a man who robbed a bank on Wednesday.

The robbery occurred at TLC FIBRE Credit Union, located at 1625 North Coast Highway. Police did not say when the robbery happened.

Police said the suspect gave a note to the bank teller that demanded all of the money be placed into a bag. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The amount of money the suspect got away with was not disclosed by police. No injuries were reported after the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build and dark-colored hair. He was wearing a yellow colored bandana over his nose and mouth, blue jeans, blue plaid colored shirt under a black jacket, with a dark-colored ballcap, and white tennis shoes with a dark stripe.
