Oregon State Police said a motorcyclist died on Thursday after a single-vehicle crash.
Troopers responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle near milepost 72 on SR-35 around 7:40 p.m.
During the investigation, troopers learned that a black Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Steven Patrick, 31, from Portland was traveling south on SR 35 when for unknown reasons the motorcycle lost control.
Troopers said Patrick then left the southbound lane and shoulder and crashed into a large gravel shoulder.
Patrick suffered deadly injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.
The southbound shoulder of SR 35 was the only area impacted by the crash.
