Two women injured in shooting outside North Portland strip club


Police said two women were injured in a shooting incident outside of a strip club in North Portland early Friday.

Portland police officers responded to the scene at Jags Clubhouse in the 600 block of North Columbia Boulevard and Kerby Avenue just after midnight.

Officers said they arrived to find a 22-year-old woman inside the bar suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

After further investigation, officers learned there had been a disturbance outside the club that had resulted in an African American man firing several shots at a parked car containing several passengers. The shooter then fled the scene.

The injured woman walked into the club to seek help, according to police.

While officers were investigating the shooting, Portland police received a call about a carjacking at a 76 Gas Station near Northeast Broadway and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Responding officers found a 30-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police discovered that the second victim had also been shot outside Jags Clubhouse and the carjacking at the gas station had not taken place.

Based on evidence gathered at the scene. the Gang Enforcement Team is continuing the investigation.
