How to access Netflix's secret categories

(Meredith) – Are you tired of watching the same movies on Netflix? There are dozens of secret genre codes that can unlock hidden TV shows and movies for you to binge through all night!

Here's how it works.

Netflix categorizes all their movies in really specific ways, things like 'Sports comedies, 'Courtroom Dramas', and 'Experimental Movies'. But if you just log onto the site and click browse, you'll never see these categories. They're hidden behind the scenes, but you can access them with a simple trick.

Step 1

Open your web browser and go to this URL:

http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/SECRETCODE

(You'll need to be logged in to see it)

Step 2

Now, you'll need to change 'SECRETCODE' before you hit "Enter." Replace 'SECRETCODE' with a secret numerical code. (We've listed some below).

For instance, try replacing 'SECRETCODE' with '53310' to see silent movies, or use '8195' to see B-Horror Movies.

Here are some of our favorite hidden categories from the list.

4006 = Military Documentaries

6384 = Tearjerkers

35800 = Steamy Romantic Movies

45028 = Deep Sea Horror Movies

75930 = Werewolf Horror Movies

3278 = Rock & Pop Concerts

6695 = Martial Arts, Boxing & Wrestling

There are a lot of these secret category codes, and you can see a full list at whatsonnetflix.com.
