(Meredith) -- A 52-year-old woman's death is being investigated as a possible murder after she fell from a cruise ship's upper deck, according to USA Today.

The American woman was traveling on a Princess Cruises ship, sailing in the Caribbean, when she was reportedly choked by a man.

An Aruba-based publication Diario claims the woman plunged from an upper deck of the 3,600 passenger Royal Princess onto a lifeboat after struggling with the suspect, USA Today reports.

USA Today says Aruba-based outlet, MasNoticia.com, reports authorities are investigating the incident as a possible murder case.

According to WPLG, the woman was traveling with her husband but her husband was not considered a suspect.
